If you are planning to install display outdoor like outdoor standee, outdoor screen on building or wall, outdoor display on poles refers to pole streamers, outdoor big SMD screen on two to three even on four poles or outdoor SMD screen installed inside giving the view outside (explained below).
Keep in mind GKGD outdoor SMD displays are weatherproof and high bright i-e greater than or equal to 5000 nits and comes with higher refresh rate @ 3840Hz

Outdoor Models of GKGD SMD Screens:

These are following outdoor models describe below.

1) P3 Outdoor

This outdoor model has higher number of pixels or lamp beads or dots i-e 104 pixels in width and 52 pixels in height so total number of pixels in one module are 5,408 and classified in premium outdoor models category.

Why choose the GKGD P3 outdoor SMD screen?
  1. If your SMD display has a relatively small screen size, choosing a P3 outdoor display can provide a much sharper and clearer viewing experience. This is because P3 displays have a smaller pixel pitch just 3 millimeters between each pixel which allows for a higher pixel density. Higher pixel density means more pixels are packed into a smaller area, resulting in finer detail and smoother images.
  2. The minimum viewing distance for a P3 SMD display is approximately 3 meters (or around 10 feet). This means that at a distance of 3 meters or more, the individual pixels on the screen become indistinguishable to the human eye, resulting in a smooth and clear image. If a viewer stands closer than this distance, they might begin to notice the individual pixels, which can affect the overall image quality and visual experience.

This model typically comes at a higher cost due to its higher resolution and advanced technology. However, if your budget allows, investing in a P3 model can be well worth it. This display offers a premium visual experience with exceptional image clarity, sharpness, and high contrast levels.

2) P4 Outdoor

This outdoor model has lower number of pixels or lamp beads so dots compared to P3 outdoor i-e 80 pixels in width and 40 pixels in height so total number of pixels in one module are 3,200 and classified in mid premium outdoor category.

Why choose GKGD P4 outdoor SMD screen?
  1. From a practical standpoint this model is commonly used in digital mobile standees the type you often see in front of retail stores, brand outlets, banks, and corporate offices.
  • This model strikes a good balance between cost, resolution, and visibility, making them a popular choice for applications where the screen needs to be easily readable from a moderate distance.
  • The minimum viewing distance for a P4 outdooris roughly 4 meters, or about 13 feet. At this distance or farther, the pixels are packed closely enough that the human eye can no longer distinguish them individually, allowing the viewer to see a smooth, seamless image. If someone stands closer than 4 meters, they may begin to notice the pixel structure, which can make the image appear less sharp or slightly pixelate.

P4 outdoor is cheaper than P3 outdoor yet premium.

3) P5 Outdoor

This outdoor model has lower number of pixels or lamp beads or dots compared to P3 and P4 outdoor i-e 64 pixels in width and 32 pixels in height so total number of pixels in one module are 2048 and classified in mid-range outdoor category.

Why choose GKGD P5 outdoor SMD screen?

This is more demanding model in market. Firstly, the P5 outdoor offers a more cost-effective solution while delivering a higher pixel density compared to the P8 outdoor model. Despite its superior resolution, the price difference between the P5 and P8 outdoor displays is relatively small, making the P5 an attractive choice for those seeking better image quality without a significant increase in cost.

The minimum recommended viewing distance for a P5 SMD display is approximately 5 meters (about 16 feet). At this distance or greater, the individual pixels blend seamlessly, producing a smooth and clear image to the human eye. However, if a viewer stands closer than 5 meters, they may begin to notice the individual pixels, which can slightly reduce the overall image quality and impact the visual experience.

From a practical perspective, this model is widely used in digital mobile standees and on poles (Poles Streamers), the kind frequently seen outside super malls, brand outlets, banks, schools and universitates etc.

4) P8 Outdoor

This outdoor model has lower number of pixels or lamp beads or dots compared to P3, P4 and P5 outdoor but higher than P10 i-e 40 pixels in width and 20 pixels in height so total number of pixels in one module are 800 and classified in economic outdoor category.

Why choose GKGD P8 outdoor SMD screen?
  1. The P8 outdoor model is highly recommended for large-scale commercial SMD displays intended for outdoor use. It is commonly used in installations such as roadside billboards, massive digital screens mounted on building facades, and other high-visibility locations (Not recommended for outdoor pole streamers).
  2. The minimum recommended viewing distance for a P8 SMD display is around 8 meters (approximately 26 feet). From this distance or farther, the individual pixels merge visually, creating a smooth, sharp, and cohesive image for the viewer. If someone stands closer than 8 meters, the separation between pixels may become noticeable, which can slightly diminish the perceived image quality and affect the overall viewing experience.
  3. It is considered one of the most robust models available, thanks to its exceptional durability, and lamp or pixels or dots are soldiered strongly and having 8mm gap between each pixels that makes repairs and maintenance easy .
  4. Ensuring clear and vibrant visuals from long viewing distances and under varying weather conditions.
  5. Module is designed with fewer lamps (also referred to as dots or pixels) per unit area compared to higher-density models. With fewer SMD/LEDs drawing energy, the P8 outdoor display consumes less power overall, making it a cost-effective choice for large scale outdoor installations where energy savings are an important consideration.
5) P10 Outdoor

This outdoor model has lower number of pixels (often refer to as lamp beads or dots) compared to P3, P4, P5 and P8 i-e 32 pixels in width and 16 pixels in height so total number of pixels in one module are 512 and classified in economic outdoor category.

Why choose GKGD P10 outdoor SMD screen?
  1. The P10 outdoor model is strongly recommended for large-scale commercial SMD displays designed for outdoor environments.
  2. It is widely used in applications such as roadside digital billboards, large-format digital screens mounted on building exteriors, and other prominent, high-traffic locations where long-distance visibility is essential.
  3. The recommended minimum viewing distance for a P10 SMD display is approximately 10 meters (about 33 feet). At this range or beyond, the individual pixels visually blend together, resulting in a clear, sharp, and seamless image. However, if viewed from a distance closer than 10 meters, the pixel spacing may become apparent, potentially reducing the image clarity and overall visual impact.
  4. Due to its relatively lower pixel density, it is not suitable for use in outdoor pole streamers or applications requiring close-range viewing.
  5. This model is also most robust models like P8, thanks to its exceptional durability, and lamp or pixels or dots are soldiered strongly and having 10mm gap between each pixel that makes repairs and maintenance easy.
  6. Due to lower pixels than P8 so it is more power efficient.

However, it’s important to note that there is little difference in price between the P8 and P10 outdoor models. Given this, the P8 is generally the preferred choice due to its higher resolution and better visual performance. In fact, it’s fair to say that the P10 model has become somewhat outdated in comparison.

Conclusion:

Quality of all SMD modules are same, selecting the right GKGD outdoor SMD screen depends on your specific installation needs, viewing distance, and budget. Models like P3 and P4 offer premium clarity for close-range applications, while P5 provides a great value-performance balance. P8 is ideal for large-scale outdoor displays with energy efficiency and strong durability. P10, though still robust, is less favoured today due to minimal cost difference with P8 and lower resolution. By understanding model differences, you can confidently choose the best screen for your project.
